Jesse Waylon Corlis is an artist/designer and West Virginia native, hailing from Braxton County. Jesse grew up in a creative family that nurtured his imagination and ambition. As the son of an award winning home builder and designer, Michael Corlis, he learned the values of craftmanship, attention to detail, and the relationship between form and function.
In his studies, Jesse pursued a rounded education in the visual arts and has worked with world renowned artists Dung Hee Suh and Bill Hopen. After earning his BFA in Studio Art from WV Wesleyan College, Jesse relocated to the Charleston, WV area and has been creating and designing ever since. His recent works in range from statewide print ad campaigns, to large-scale public murals. His versatile portfolio includes Web design and development, brand development and identity, illustration, sculpture, and spec design.
On any project, large or small, Jesse strives to work closely with clients, realizing the importance of every detail. The client’s satisfaction is paramount. He encourages input and criticism to ensure great and lasting fulfillment.
Jesse uses this approach and design cues toward graphic design in both bold and subtle ways to suit the desires of his clients. The goal is to be able to appreciate the work from a distance, but to gain a greater satisfaction by looking more closely. The results are designs that stand out and endure passing trends.
