Mark Imbrogno, Public Relation Director
Mark Imbrogno was born in Columbus, OH and raised in the Charleston, WV area. With generations of family born and raised in West Virginia, he considers himself a West Virginian to the core, taking pride in the heritage of his state and hoping to help make sure the state’s future is bright. Working at his mother’s local consignment shop from a young age and attending Charleston Catholic High School, Mark has built a strong work ethic and desire to always learn more. Mark studied marketing at the University of Kentucky and English and journalism at The Ohio State University and Columbus State.
While pursuing his college education, Mark worked on several promotional campaigns for independent and major record labels. He also helped develop marketing and sales plans for Graeter’s Ice Cream in Columbus, OH.
With the right opportunities opening up for him, Mark made the decision to move home to Charleston in 2005, and has been moving forward ever since. He spent much of 2006 handling communications for Mike Callaghan’s Congressional Campaign. Along with those duties, he often found himself filling other roles during the endless 16 hour campaign work days, such as fundraising and field organizing.
After the campaign came to a close, Mark joined Cheri Heflin & Company, where he took an immediate role in client services and business development. His day to day work includes sales, message and campaign development, branding and media relations. He has experience consulting to small businesses, law firms, elected officials and candidates.
Mark is becoming known as “The Idea Guy” for his concept and message development skills. He thrives on brainstorming sessions and seeing ideas come to fruition, especially when the excitement carries over to clients. A self-professed news-junkie, Mark always keeps his eyes open for connections and relatedness between what is going on across the globe and locally for clients.
Mark has hands-on experience working with media from across the state, pitching stories and providing information and materials. He has planned and managed press conferences and events. Mark has experience as a spokesperson, writer and web designer. He has assisted in planning research projects and evaluating their results for the purpose of developing marketing strategies and messaging.
